Our Acronym is Better Than Theirs - Picking the LAMB's Top 10 Documentary Films

The results are in, and the LAMB has picked its Top 10 Documentary Films (for background on this, click here). There were a total of 20 voters, with their votes spread out amongst a whopping 131 films (out of a possible 200)! Suffice it to say, there is little agreement here (or a lot of diversity, if you're a glass hlaf-full kinda person).

With the votes spread out all over the place, again it didn't take much more than a single Top 10 vote for a film to make the Top 10 here. This time, though, it was neck and neck for first place, and the lone film that had multiple first-place votes (2) got stuck in second place, while the film that ended up as the topper didn't earn a single first-place vote.

Here are your winners (1st place votes in parentheses):

9t. Scratch - 19 points from 2 voters (1)

9t. Koyaanisqatsi - 19 points from 3 voters (1)

8. Spellbound - 23 points from 4 voters (0)

7. An Inconvenient Truth - 25 points from 5 voters (1)

6. Crumb - 26 points from 4 voters (0)

5. The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters - 30 points from 5 voters (1)

3t. Super Size Me - 33 points from 8 votes (0)

3t. Hoop Dreams - 33 points from 6 votes (1)

2. Capturing the Friedmans - 38 points from 5 votes (2)

1. Bowling for Columbine - 39 points from 6 votes (0)

So...how many did you vote for? If you'd like to see yours and all the other votes, scroll down. A post has been added with all of them, but I have dated it prior to this post so it won't clutter the page.

Others receiving 1st-place votes: Buena Vista Social Club, Deliver Us From Evil, Don't Look Back, Harlan County, U.S.A., Hearts and Minds, In the Realms of the Unreal, My Voyage to Italy, Sherman's March, Style Wars, The Celluloid Closet, The Sorrow and the Pity, Triumph of the Will, and Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson.

As for our next topic: we had a couple genres each receive a few votes (cult films, foreign films), but seeing as how we're running short on the big genres, it's time to have fun. I'm going to call an audible this time out - I figured with the LAMB's birthday tomorrow, it might be fun to just plain count down our favorite films. I expect them to be all over the board, but we're bound to share some faves. So, give me your 10 favorite films of all time (not necessarily best). The poll is already up, and will be for two weeks - be sure to read the instructions. Go vote now so I don't have to hassle you later! Thanks.

One final note - I've heard that Mister Poll doesn't get along well with Internet Explorer 8. If you are having troubles, please try Firefox or Safari.
