If you've been around the LAMB for awhile, you've no doubt seen me post something like this periodically. However, it's been awhile and I like to put something like it up every now and then, mostly for the newer LAMBs who may not be aware that this place is an open door.You've just seen the awesome show DJ put on with the latest edition of LAMBs in the Director's Chair. You see Rachel post LAMBScores and Blake post the LAMB Chops (I feel like the host of a PBS special). If you've got an idea for a new feature, or would like to pick up one that might've gotten lost in the shuffle somewhere along the way, the LAMB would love to have you as a contributing author and, in general, is always looking for fresh ideas on how to make this place not only better, but more able to accomplish its purpose of serving the movie blog community.
While new features/ideas are always welcome (many are often first discussed over at the LAMB Forums), here's a sampling of some older features that I'd love to see reinstated (but don't have the time to do myself):
* Interview With a LAMBpire - Pretty self-explanatory. A host interviews a LAMB site's author.
* Another "battle" event (like LAMB Action Hero) - A fun creative writing exercise involving movie characters
* It's A Wonderful LAMB - Celebrate a LAMB you love.
* Plot Farm - More creative writing, this time making up a story after being given a handful of words to build your story around.
* Trailer Talk - This should really be a necessity around here. Pick a trailer, embed it, and discuss. Simple as that.
* Stump the LAMBs - Another self-explanatory one. Expert-level movie trivia.
* Invasion of the LAMBs - Screencap quiz with a twist.
...and more I'm forgetting at the moment, to be sure.
Though I'd welcome our past hosts back with open arms, some are just busy with other things and some are more or less out of the blogging business. So, the question is, do you have an idea for a new running feature here, or would you like to take over an existing one?
Embrace the community, enhance the LAMB, and maybe get some additional exposure for you/your site.
If you're up to the task, send me your ideas via email or via a PM on the LAMB Forums and we'll go from there. The LAMB is only as good as its members, so let's make it great.
