LAMB #526 - CyniCritics

URL: http://cynicritics.wordpress.com/
Site Name: CyniCritics
Categories: Review, General
Rating: PG-13

What is the main focus of your site?
To give an alternative to movie reviews from the head old bastards in Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone and newspapers who are out of touch with younger viewers and newer and alternative cinema.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
Personally our goals are to become better at movie reviewing and film criticism. Professionally, it is to put our name on something that we create ourselves and watch flourish.

Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
The website is very teacher/student oriented, where our reviews are lectures and opinions of the professors, but we only learning can really take place if there is an interactive setting where the readers will comment back and share their opinions on the movies and our reviews.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I have been blogging informally for over three years, however this blogging website is my first formal attempt. Updates to the website are usually given every two or three days. If there is more interaction on our site, we would love to increase that.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
A Clockwork Orange, Taxi Driver, There Will Be Blood.

How did you hear about the LAMB?
I saw it linked to another movie review blog.

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that's not listed above.
Both my friend and I have been reviewing movies for years. He is majoring in journalism and cinema studies while writing and reviewing for his college newspaper. I am a film making major with a minor in film studies and writing for a student produced comedy newspaper and a sitcom.

One interesting thing we plan on doing with this website is to set it up so that we can counter each other's reviews since there are two of us. We hope to get "second opinion" type articles and more unique approaches to reviewing films.
