The winner of the 2010 LAMMY for Best Podcast is...

Coming at you twice a day until the winner of the Best Blog award is unveiled next Friday, it's time for the 2010 LAMMY Awards gala!

As I mentioned in the intro on the poll, any votes cast by ineligible voters would be discarded (eligible voters were LAMBs #1-516). There were 8 such ineligible voters; while I appreciate the effort, rules are rules. I'd like to take this time to once again thank all of the people that responded to my nagging, incessant reminders to first nominate sites (the true legwork) and subsequently take part in the final voting. There were 73 eligible voters; some took part in all categories, some chose to abstain in certain ones. It's been a load of fun again (all those FYC ads were terrific!) and I look forward to next year already. If you have ideas on how to improve the experience in any way, I'm all ears!

Anyway, on to the awards!

Best Podcast
This was a hotly contested race that resulted in a near-photo finish...

3rd place: Screen Insight's The Simon and Jo Film Show (12 votes)

2nd place: The self-titled podcast of The Film Cynics (19 votes)

And the winner, with 21 votes is...

The Dark of the Matinee's The Matineecast

LAMMY Banners will be emailed to the winners and runner-ups after all the awards have been presented. Congratulations!
