LAMB #748 - The Ramblings of a Minnesota Geek
URL: http://mngeekramblings.blogspot.com/
Site Name: The Ramblings of a Minnesota Geek
Categories: Reviews, Editorials
Rating: PG-13
What is the main focus of your site?
Review movies and television programs, which are kind of a major part of my existence. On average I see two theatrical movies a week, and a good handful on DVD, so I know my stuff. Mostly. Don't quiz me. Editorials will show up here and there when I have something magnificent to say, but primarily the purpose of the site will be offering opinions on new movies, shows, and the occasional book that's so cool enough it warrants it. A semi-schedule has been implemented to offer a few more features to the blog, such as Music Much Awesomeness Mondays and The Watcher on Thursdays
What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
Goals are primarily to entertain, maybe possibly convince folks to see a flick or TV show they were a bit uneasy of. To convert at least one person to do that would make the time spent on the blog pretty much worth it. On a professional level, I intend on using this site as a sort of portfolio for editors to judge my writing style, see if it's compatible with their newspapers or journals, for example, since getting into the writing field is a primary goal of mine. But more than anything - the big goal of the blog is to have fun, and enjoy surfing around it.
Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers the students?
I like the whole interactive community part. It would be bloody awesome if I was the Jedi Master and you were all my Padawans, but sadly, I don't know enough to be Master Yoda. However, if the subject of my blog was monster movies, I'm pretty sure I'd be Master-level, compared to most folks. But yes, community interactiveness indeed!
How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
Been active since late 2008, and posts are rather sporadic. As a student, updates depend entirely on time and lack of doing anything else grade-point related. I do honestly try to write & update as frequently as I can.
Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
Star Wars - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Batman Begins
How did you hear about the LAMB?
Pretty much everywhere at movie blogs - Blog Cabins, Random Ramblings of a Demented Doorknob, Rachel Reel Reviews, plus misc. other sites visited.
