LAMB #299 - Where Danger Lives

Site Name: Where Danger Lives
Categories: Reviews, Classic Film
Rating: PG
What is the main focus of your site?
At this moment, I’m primarily interested in reviewing classic film noir, preferably on the rare and hard-to-find side of that dark street.
What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
My blog is just a personal outlet for the swirl of thoughts I have as I tackle these films. I’m trying to review movies that don’t have a wealth of critical information already floating around out there in print or cyberspace. I’m finding that I really enjoy the process — and I’m learning a great deal about myself and the way I think about films through the writing process.
Do you prefer an interactive community for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
I’m a college professor by trade, so I get my fill of being the teacher that way. I hope that if anyone out there actually reads my posts, they come back at me with their own thoughts. It can be difficult to find people who are interested in the same sorts of obscure films as myself, so I hope the blog can be a way to connect with those folks — it seems to be working.
How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
Not long, maybe six months. I post updates as often as I can, school being out of session helps! I'm shooting for one long review each week.
Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
The Best Years of Our Lives, The Narrow Margin, I am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang.
How did you hear about the LAMB?
Seeing the badge on so many great blogs.
Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that's not listed above.
I’m really interested in the Academy Awards, and am close to completing a gigantic accomplishment related to the awards that ’ve been working on for more than twenty years. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ll keep it a secret for now. I’m also a big fan of Netflix, which for a decade now has made movies profoundly more accessible.
