HUTCHERSON, WASIKOWSKA TOP 2010 POPCORN N ROSES RISING STARS LIST

Actor Josh Hutcherson and actress Mia Wasikowska took the honors as the #1 male and female rising star on the fifth annual Popcorn N Roses Rising Stars list as announced on Sunday, July 4.

Hutcherson just edged out actor Logan Lerman for the top spot on the male side, with actor Kyle Gallner in the #3 position. On the women’s side, Wasikowska is the first non-American female to top the annual list. She is followed by actress Chloe Grace Moretz at #2 and actress Emma Stone at #3.

Since 2006, the Popcorn N Roses Rising Stars list has been one of the most-watched of its kind in the internet film community. In past years, Popcorn N Roses has been first in naming some of the fastest rising stars around, including Michael Angarano, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Anton Yelchin, and Ellen Page.

The fifth annual Popcorn N Roses Rising Stars list was announced on a special edition of the website's popular film podcast Subject:CINEMA, Sunday, July 4 at 6 PM Eastern.

The Popcorn N Roses Rising Stars list has had an impressive track record with over 70% of the list honorees jumping into the Hollywood spotlight within the following 12 months.
