LAMB #171 - She Blogged By Night

URL: http://www.shebloggedbynight.com/
Site Name: She Blogged By Night
Categories: Reviews, News, General
Rating: PG, although I may occasionally go into PG-13, especially when dealing with 1960s films.

What is the main focus of your site?
I focus on movies, mostly American, up to the 1960s. I deliberately choose movies which are lesser-known, sometimes almost impossible to find. I try to stay within a few broad categories, mainly pre-code, film noir, silent and camp, although almost anything is fair game.

What are your blogging goals, personally and/or professionally? In other words, what, if anything, are you trying to get out your blog?
My goal is to provide information for some of these lesser-known films, hopefully to encourage others to seek these films out themselves. It would be great if I helped get some of these issued on DVD. It's also a way for me to discuss films from my particular angle, as I don't have a lot of luck finding film forums which discuss the kinds of films I like to watch. I also enjoy using the blog to bring up issues in films that aren't usually discussed -- for example, in every film forum I have been on, racism and sexism are dismissed as "just the way it was back then", but I want to talk about these issues so I do it on my blog, where my comments don't get ignored or swept under the rug.

Do you prefer an interactive 'community' for your blog or are you the teacher and your readers are the students?
Definitely prefer interactive. There is no doubt that I'm still a film newbie. I love hearing what others think and finding new bloggers with unique ways of looking at the same films I've seen, and of course getting recommendations of films to watch.

How long have you been movie blogging for, and how frequent do you post updates to your site?
I have been blogging almost a year, and I try to post 2-4 times per month.

Name up to three of your favorite movies (and no more).
The Third Man, The Unknown (1927), The Innocents.

How did you hear about the LAMB?
I found it via Radiator Heaven, which I found through the Movies About Movies Blogathon.

Any additional comments, or give yourself an interview question that's not listed above.
None.
