Hey everyone it is D.J. Heinlein from the blog site Matte Havoc. The time has come to announce the tenth candidate of the LAMBs in the Director’s Chair series. The event will start in about three and a half weeks, which I am hoping will be enough time to watch and review a movie or two from their combined catalog. Yes, we have two co-stars for this current event and I hope that it will not diminish our experience of watching their films or reading articles about their career. Both of them have a small number of feature film titles to their credit, but the list of movies sure packs a powerful punch in quality filmmaking. For a direct reference, here is the entire list of their directorial credits.
Kimberly Pierce
Boys Don’t Cry (1999)
Stop-Loss (2008)
Sofia Coppola
The Virgin Suicides (1999)
Lost in Translation (2003)
Marie Antoinette (2006)
A total of five movies between the two of them may be a bit surprising, but these five films have won 123 awards including three Oscars plus four additional Oscar nominations. I think these two women know a little something about producing an award worthy film. What do you think?
