LAMB Leaderboard Updated for January

We have a new site atop the Leaderboard. MiNG Movie Reviews has replaced last month's leader, Anomalous Material. Congrats!

We had four new/returning entrants to the board with 30% of the leaderboard being populated with the generic LAMB Banner, which is down from last month's 35%. Let's get the number even lower next month!

LAMB Leaderboard Updated for December

In an impressive 10-space jump, Anomalous Material has dethroned Where Danger Lives after a three-month reign at the top of the leaderboard. Congrats!

We had seven new/returning entrants to the board but we're up to 35% of the leaderboard being populated with the generic LAMB Banner when we were down to only 10% in November.

LAMB Leaderboard Updated for November!

For the third month in a row, Where Danger Lives sits at the top of the leaderboard. Congrats!

We had six new/returning entrants to the board and we're down to only 10% of the board  having the generic LAMB banner! Almost there!

Speaking of LAMB Banners, five new ones added to the Gallery/random banner widget. The new ones hanging proudly are for: Via Margutta 51, Inspired Ground, My Film Habit, True Classics: The ABCs of Classic Film, and Movie Sense by FranchiseSaysSo. Note that some are currently pending LAMBs, but we still appreciate their enthusiasm.

Poll Results; New Polls

In the last poll, Dylan asked if members would be interested in a blog mentoring program geared toward new LAMB members who've just started their sites and need a little extra support and advice in the beginning. More details can be found in the last poll post. There was a fair amount of interest for both the mentor role and the rookie role, so if anyone would like to head up this program, please email me here. Since this would be a new project, nothing is set in stone and you would have an opportunity to make it your own. And if you are looking for a way to become more involved with the LAMB, this would be an excellent opportunity.

I have received some suggestions from a LAMB member on two current LAMB features, LAMB Chops and the LAMB Leaderboard. It was suggested that the LAMB Chops are ineffective at generating traffic for the sites and articles featured, not at the fault of Jason or Ivan, but just the general attitude towards Chops. It was suggested we have one LAMB "link of the day" featured, instead of three separate sets of Chops throughout the week.

As for the Leaderboard, it was suggested that instead of highlighting the LAMB sites that send the most traffic to the LAMB monthly, we highlight the LAMBs who are commenting the most on the LAMB. I know several bloggers who have monthly comment contests to generate more interaction on their sites, and it really seems to work.

LAMB Leaderboard updated for May!

A meteoric ascent has seen a certain guy go from not ranked two months ago to runner-up last month, and now This Guy Over Here has claimed the top of the leaderboard as His Place. Congratulations!

A pretty normal month for new/returning entrants, with five sites joining or re-joining the ranks of the leaderboard. Meanwhile, still a scant three generic banners over there, again from some newer LAMBs (heck, one of them - The Horror Digest - has yet to even have their profile posted. Awesome!).

Speaking of LAMB Banners, we were back on the gravy train with new ones received in the past month, with seven more added to the Gallery. Now hanging are the banners for Thrilling Days of Yesteryear, Screen Insight, Peter Eramo's Magic Lantern Film Blog, The Ludovico Technique, Just Plain Something, Undy a Hundy, and Zombots! After quite a few months of lose contention, Cut the Crap Movie Reviews has finally taken over the top spot in the Leaderboard. Congrats!

Twas a busy month for new/returning entrants, with six sites on the board this month that weren't there last month, led by the #2 with a bullet This Guy Over Here. Not bad news on the generic banner front, as there are just three, and those are from some pretty new LAMBs.

Speaking of LAMB Banners, it was finally a bit of a down month in terms of new banners received, with just three. The new ones hanging proudly in the Gallery are the banners for Film Intel, The Stories That Really Mattered, and We Have Beards. Thanks to those sites. Their banners have also been inserted into the Random LAMB Banner box.

LAMB Leaderboard updated for March!

After six months atop the Leaderboard, 24 Hours to Midnight: The Blog has finally been taken down (all the way to #2) by longtime 'board rival The Lightning Bug's Lair. A rowdy huzzah to both of you, and congrats to the Bug.

Just three new/returning entrants to board, led by Big Mike's Movie Blog, returning after a long absence to the #5 spot - impressive. Also good - just two generic LAMB Banners over there. Thanks to all of you that have sent one in.

Speaking of LAMB Banners, I was blown away again by all of the new ones (and updated ones) I received in the last month - 10 new entries and 2 updates in all! LAMB Leaderboard updated for February!

24 Hours to Midnight: The Blog made a late surge and, for the 6th straight month, is the big LAMB on campus. Cut the Crap Movie Reviews came close, so close, to toppling the eternal Leaderboard leader, but to no avail.

Just four new/returning entrants to board, led by Detailed Criticisms, debuting in the #7 spot - impressive. Even better - a Leaderboard record (of sorts) has been demolished, as there's just one lonely generic LAMB Banner over there. Thanks to all of you that have sent one in.

Speaking of LAMB Banners, I was blown away (and busy) with all of the newest ones - 12 in all! For the 5th straight month, 24 Hours to Midnight: The Blog is the big LAMB on campus. Huzzah! Also, if I'm not mistaken, today is the birthday of one of 24 Hours' contributors (boylorne?), so double bonus! Happy Birthday!

Five new/returning entrants to board, led by Silent Volume, debuting (I believe) in the #6 spot - impressive. The downside is the large number of generic LAMB banners over there - six five in total (Andrew from Encore Entertainment just sent one). C'mon, folks - send me some banners. You know you want to represent your site better.

For the 4rd straight month, 24 Hours to Midnight: The Blog is the big LAMB on campus. Will anyone ever unseat this unstoppable force? Like last month, the top five is largely unchanged, though The Dark of the Matinee made a triumphant return to the Leaderboard, charging all the way up to the third spot. TDOTM led a group of six (30%) new/returning entries to the 'board - impressive! Even more impressive is the fact that there are but three generic LAMB banners up there - pretty sure that's a new low. Thanks again to all of you that have sent one in.

In fact, the top five sites this month are the same top five from last month, the order has just changed slightly. That said, there is plenty of new blood on the Leaderboard (including two with fresh LAMB banners; see below), with five sites making the list that weren't there last month.

Finally, in an attempt to de-clutter the place a bit (as per the LAMB's own Blustering), I've taken down the B.L.O.C. (Big LAMB On Campus) showcase banner for the monthly Leaderboard topper. No offense meant to the Bug, but it seemed like it was one widget that, while nice, wasn't serving as much of a purpose as some of the other ones. I'd like to think of some way to honor the Leaderboard leader, but in the meantime, sitting on top in the Leaderboard's prominent position makes for a decent reward in and of itself.

LAMB Leaderboard updated for July!

...and we have a returning champion atop as the B.L.O.C. (Big LAMB on Campus). Congrats to The Lightning Bug's Lair for dominating the Leaderboard, with 39 more hits than the second place site, equal to the amount of total hits from sites 19 and 20 on the list. Speaking of which, I don't know if it's just summer doldrums or what, but 18 hits should never be enough to make the Leaderboard. No offense, of course, to Riku Writes, a relatively new LAMB - making it that early is an accomplishment unto itself.
