LAMB MOTM Reminder: December...and January

I have good news and bad news and good news and - well, frankly, I've lost count. I'll just put it in the order I learned it: There were zero entries for December's MOTM, White Man's Burden, suggested by DJ at Matte Havoc. That's some bad news. However, since the holidays no doubt had something to do with this, I've decided that we ought to extend this through January. So get it, watch it, review it and send me the link to your review by January 30th at 12:00 p.m. CST, with LAMB MOTM in your subject line.

You also might notice that Rachel (of Rachel's Reel Reviews) is not the one posting this. Due to extra-bloggeral circumstances, she will not be able to handle the MOTM hosting duties for some time, though she may return at some point in the future. My many, many thanks to Rachel for being our gracious host here all these months.

But back to business. See White Man's Burden. Review it. Send the link to your review and your rating (LAMB Love, In LAM(B)iddle, or LAMB Loathe) to blogcabins@yahoo.com. And while you're at it, send your own suggestion for a future MOTM (I don't have the list).

Thank you to all LAMBs who reviewed this month's film. The feelings were quite off balance, but maybe I was just in a bad mood when I watched it (but I wasn't).

I'm not naming a new film for October today. I've decided to start taking suggestions again. Originally I was going to draw out of the suggestions for up to 6 months (since I had 17 the first time around), but, in hopes of boosting participation and to give new LAMBs a chance, I've decided to accept more title suggestions. The only rules are the film must be on dvd, it must be easy to find and only one suggestion per participating LAMB (and yes, you must be a LAMB). Anyway, I'm giving everyone till October 10th to get their preferred titles to me. And then the drawing will begin again and I'll announce the October MOTM. Email title suggestions to me at rachelcminyard@hotmail.com. Please have LAMB MOTM in the subject line and please let me know your site.

If you submitted a title back in June and want to keep it in the pot, don't do anything. I'll just assume that you still want your film considered. If you want to change or withdraw your title, please let me know.

LAMB MOTM Pick for June

I know you've all been eagerly awaiting the weekend so I'd finally announce the LAMB MOTM for June. That or so you can finally catch You Don't Mess with the Zohan. I'm here to help you on the former, but if it's the latter you seek, may I suggest professional help?

First, I'd like to thank all 17 (!) LAMB members who sent in their movie title suggestions. There were some great submissions and it almost sucks that only one gets chosen. But, after I tore up 17 pieces of paper and wrote 17 titles down, one lucky movie was finally chosen out of my lucky martini glass. Behold, your LAMB MOTM for June is...The Big Lebowski. Special thanks to Nayana at The Center Seat for submitting it.

So now all you have to do is get it, watch it, review it and send me a link to your review (rachelcminyard@hotmail.com) by June 29th at 12:00 pm (CST). If you're a gunner who already reviewed this one but you still want to play in our reindeer games, please feel free to send me a link to your old review. I'll be sure to give you a one week reminder before the official post with all the links goes up on June 30th.

LAMB MOTM Suggestions Reminder-June

This is just a reminder that your submissions for our first MOTM event are due by 12:00 p.m. (CST) tomorrow (Saturday). I've already received quite a few film suggestions that cover a vast array of genres, but if you'd like to add your two cents, email me your submission with your site name to rachelcminyard@hotmail.com. See a list of rules here.

I will draw the lucky winner out of a hat (and by hat I mean my lucky martini glass) and announce the MOTM on Sunday, which gives everyone 3 weeks to participate.

And we still don't have a permanent title for the event just yet, though some ideas are being thrown around on the forum. So any suggestions for the event's title will be welcome also.

LAMB Movie of the Month

Hello fellow LAMBs. Rachel here from Rachel's Reel Reviews. We're kicking off a new monthly LAMB event and I'll be your hostess. So, for your consideration, behold the Lamb Movie of the Month (working title until further notice).

The Plan:

1. The first week of every month LAMBs will submit their suggestion for a possible movie for everyone to watch and review.

2. Anyone who wants to participate will have 3 weeks to get the movie, watch it, review it and send in the link to your review.

3. On the last day of the month I will post all participants' links to their reviews for everyone else to enjoy.

And it's that simple.

Now for some rules:

1. Please only suggest movies that are on dvd.

2. Please suggest only one movie per month. I will take the suggestions and draw a title at random, but it will be tiresome if I get 5 suggestions from each LAMB.

3. Please suggest movies that are easy to find. Not everyone has a Netflix account and we need movies that will be easy to find at the local video store, because we want as much participation as possible.

Okay, those are the only rules I have for now, but that's subject to change.

I will now be taking your suggestions for the June MOTM. Please email your movie suggestions, with the name of your site, to me at rachelcminyard@hotmail.com. You have until noon (CST) this Saturday June 7th to throw in your two cents. I will announce the movie on Sunday, which will give us just over three weeks.

Also, we are looking for ideas for a possible title for this monthly event. So if you're feeling particularly creative today, send me those suggestions as well. I'm looking forward to having a full inbox by the end of the day.
